David M. Bastiaans combines his training as an attorney and as a Certified Public Accountant to uniquely serve his clients. In addition, David has earned his LL.M. in business transactions from The University of Alabama School of Law to better serve his business clients and its owners.

David’s extensive experience in business transactions and succession planning, commercial/residential real estate and estate planning/estate administration qualify him to assist businesses, individuals, and families with both their legal, business and tax needs.

Before obtaining his law degree David started his professional career working with certified public accounting firms in Boston, MA and Washington, DC. After graduating with his law degree in 1997, David moved to Virginia Beach, VA when he joined Wolcott Rivers Gates in June 1998. Since 1998 David has focused his legal practice on assisting his clients with business transactions ranging from entity formations and restructuring, business acquisitions and dispositions, succession and transitions. He also works with individuals to develop estate plans that minimize estate taxes and probate administration.

David has made his home in Virginia Beach, VA since 1998. He is married to Angela and they have two children. When not practicing law and assisting clients, David enjoys watching and traveling all over the country with his son playing baseball, and his daughter competing in gymnastics. David enjoys playing golf and running the Virginia Beach Golf League (www.vbgolfleague.com) he founded in 2007. David was an avid rugby player and played with teams in Springfield, MA, Boston, MA, Washington, DC and Virginia Beach, VA.

David is active in church and community organizations. David is a member of the St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church Finance Committee, general board member of Catholic Charities of Eastern Virginia and member of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation Advisory Committee.
